This is a fast, low-effort comfort meal that cooks the Kraft Dinner macaroni right in the microwave while smokies brown in a skillet for a satisfying side. It’s ideal for busy weeknights, dorm cooking, or anytime you want a hot meal with minimal cleanup. Use a large microwave-safe bowl to prevent boil-overs, and stir on schedule so the noodles cook evenly without clumping.

  • 2 2 cheese powder packet

Add the macaroni from the Kraft Dinner box (set the cheese packet aside) and hot water to a large microwave-safe bowl.

Microwave on high for 8 minutes total, stirring after first 2 minutes then every 3 minutes to prevent clumping.

While the pasta cooks, fry the smokies in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.

Once the pasta is tender, stir in butter, milk, and the cheese powder packet until smooth and creamy. Drain any excess water first if needed.

Notes

Use a large microwave-safe bowl — the water boils up and can overflow a small one. Stirring every 3 minutes keeps the noodles from clumping and cooking unevenly.
