Double Fudge Chocolate Cake

A great birthday cake for chocolate lovers

  • 2 (100 g) large eggs
  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • 2 Tbsp (28 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (210 g) vegetable oil
  • 1⁄2 cup (47 g) cocoa powder
  • 1⁄2 cup (120 g) buttermilk
  • 1 tsp (5 g) vanilla extract

Beat in order, adding ingredients one at a time

  • 2 1⁄4 cups (278 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp (7 g) baking powder

Sift together and add to liquid mixture

  • 1 cup (240 g) water, boiling

Fold in boiling water

Place mixture in two prepared, round 9” cake pans.

  • 1⁄2 cup (91 g) Chipits chocolate chips

Sprinkle with ½ cup chocolate chips.

Bake for 25 minutes.
