A hearty casserole featuring macaroni, ground beef, and a rich tomato sauce.

  • 2 Tbsp (15 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄2 tsp (3 g) salt
  • 1 1⁄2 cups (360 g) stewed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp (28 g) butter

Make tomato sauce. Melt butter. Add flour and salt. Blend and add stewed tomatoes. Stir until thick.

  • 8 oz (230 g) macaroni

Cook macaroni.

  • 8 oz (230 g) ground beef
  • 1⁄4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1⁄4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1⁄4 cup (36 g) green bell pepper

Brown beef, add onion, celery & ground pepper.

  • 1 cup (240 g) tomato sauce
  • cayenne, to taste
  • salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste

Combine all ingredients except cheese. Turn into greased casserole dish.

  • 1⁄4 cup (28 g) grated cheddar cheese

Top with cheese.

Bake 15 min at 375 °F.
