Banana Chip Waffles (Cuisinart Recipe)

Prep 10 min · Cook 15 min

Delicious waffles packed with bananas and chocolate chips, perfect for a sweet start or a snack.

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp (25 g) sugar
  • 1 Tbsp (14 g) baking powder
  • 12 tsp (3 g) salt
  • 1 23 cups (395 g) milk
  • 12 cup banana, mashed
  • 13 cup, 2 tsp (78 g) vegetable oil
  • 2 (100 g) large eggs

Place flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, mashed banana, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl and combine until well blended and smooth.

Let batter sit for 5 minutes before using.

Preheat your waffle maker on setting #3 (the green indicator light will be illuminated when preheated).

Pour batter onto the center of the lower grid; spread evenly using a heat-proof spatula.

  • 12 cup (85 g) mini chocolate morsels

Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over batter.

Allow batter to bubble for 5-10 seconds, then close the cover of the waffle maker. The indicator light will turn red.

When the light turns green again, the waffle is ready. Open cover and carefully remove baked waffle.

Repeat with remaining batter. For best results, serve immediately or keep waffles warm in a 200°F (95°C) oven until ready to serve.

  • powdered sugar (optional)
  • ice cream (optional)
  • maple syrup

Serve with maple syrup, ice cream, or powdered sugar.

Notes
  • We recommend using setting #3 to achieve a golden brown baked waffle. Adjust the browning control if you prefer lighter or darker waffles.
  • For Banana Nut Waffles: Omit mini chocolate morsels. Add 0.5 cup (125 ml) chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds) to batter before baking.
